The Holden Commodore Group A SV is the first, proud product of Holden Special Vehicles, Australia's new home of high performance cars. A de-tuned version of the Group A race car, it's the most powerful, the most stable, the best equipped Commodore ever. It's also the most technically sophisticated, with a new ultra-high performance port fuel-injected v8, and an exciting new shape, generated in Britain's MIRA wind tunnel, which surpasses all previous Group A's in aerodynamic efficiency. The SV Group A with its slingshot acceleration - 0 to 100km/h in 6.5 seconds - admits you to the Six Second Club whose members can all get to 100km/h in six and a fraction seconds. For all its electrifying performance, this car is no beast. Delco engine management gives it instant starts from cold, smooth idle, full performance from cold, tractability at low revs, and (surprise) amazingly good highway fuel economy of 9.2 litres/100km (31 mpg)*. Nor is it spartan. This Group A is the most comfortably furnished ever, with luxury equipment such as power windows, power door locking, 4-speaker stereo AM/FM radio-cassette, air conditioning and a security system. Each car complies fully with Australian Design Rules, and carries a full Holden warranty. Only 750 of these Group A SV's will be built - be sure to see your Holden Dealer soon. ENGINE BLOCK: Reinforced cylinder block. 4 bolt main bearing caps. VALVE TRAIN: Roller rocker arms. Large diameter push rods. Cast aluminium rocker covers. Large diameter valve lifters. CAMSHAFT: New profile camshaft, driven by double-row timing chain. AIR INTAKE: Bonnet-top air intake. Dual, progressively-linked, throttle bodies. High rise intake manifold with tuned-length ram tubes, as designed for Group A racing. FUEL SYSTEM: Port fuel injection, Bosch injectors. High pressure electric fuel pump. Slotted side skirts to help remove air lift pressure from below body. Revised rear deck lid, fenced by wrap-around spoiler. Front and rear fender flanges have been reworked for tyre clearance.
