Posts: 19 | just wondering if anyone knew how you find out if your vl is a series 1 or 2. i have a 87 vl calais if that helps. thanks

Posts: 191 | F,G,H on the skinny little tag will identify the year make.
F-1986,G-1987,H-1988.
This letter changes 1st of september each year and relates to internal operations only,so id say yours may be series 2,and an 'X' on the tag normally proves its a genuine calais.

i had a look turns out it actually is a genuine calais and a 87. well the only reason i wanted to know is because i was planning on turbo soon and it was only the series 2 that came with the oil and water feeds on the side of the lock right ? not too sure.

Posts: 191 | Umm,in a sense yeah.i mean,ya never know someone may have dropped an s2 motor in it but yeah what your saying is right.
Remember that your big plug is the drain and the little 14mm is your feed.if ya need diagrams ill send'em to ya but apart from that its pretty straight forward.

Pretty sure you have to upload the pics onto a host like photobucket and just copy the code into where you want the picture.
