| instrument cluster globes problem |

Posts: 47 | hey guys i just got a LED kit for my dash cluster. it came with 4 LED lamps but in the gregorys book it shows that the cluster has 14 lamps do i need to get more lamps or do the LEDs go into certain lamp sockets?

LED's are pretty bright as they are,thats why they would have only given you 4 in the kit,lol!
I'd say you would only have to use the main sockets,for the bare necessities like your speedo,tacho,fuel and temp.
But then again,if you got more then 4 guages in the cluster then you may have to get more globes.dont forget your warning lamps too but leave the original globes in there.
Where did you buy the kit from mate,id like to get my hands on one of those and what do they cost?
Fuck,ive never thought they'd ever bring out a dash kit for VL's

Posts: 47 | umm i got it off ebay they are 20 bucks a pack i got blue ones just type in "vl dash" on ebay you will find them there i have the calais cluster with the oil guage and volts guage. how do i know what globe is for what

Posts: 395 | Usually id do one at a time mate,if you have'nt pulled it out yet do it one at a time,or turn your parker's on n take one out to see which globe is for what.you should know whats what when you see say your speedo backlight isnt on.try that n see how you go.
If you've taken out all the screws then just gently gemmy the surround of with a flatblade screwdriver coz some of'em have press clips.

Posts: 395 | Just look in the cluster n check for holes that may contain any hidden screws,when i say gemmy it means to prise/lever it out gently.
The clips are normally behind the surround,dont break them coz the vibrations you get are annoying.

Posts: 39 | haha talking about rattles, when i crashed a couple of panels just flew out from underneath the dash hahahaha. major rattles, but i put them back in though.
