what is an o-ringed block

what the f$ck is an o-ringed block?
does it mean the oil rings on the pistons or are there o-rings on the actual block itself awell it got me f$cked anyways any help much appreciated i thought they were on rotors

You're probably thinkin apex seals in rotors,lol!
An o-ringed block is what they use for cars with big horsepower mick.

The machinist machines a groove or recess into the top of the block on every cylinder,then they knock copper o-rings into the grooves.because engines with big boost shit the head gaskets coz the head gasket cant cope with the pressure,so they find the o-rings seal alot better.

cheers makka i was thinking of oil rings on the piston. lol
dont all standard turbo motors have an o-ringed block???

LOL!If they did then we'd all have no probs with head issues!no,o-ringed blocks are a HP thing,somthing not many manufacturers have an idea about,lol
