Most likely ECU,the N/A will allow so much before they start to govern(not allow)because the N/A and VLT ECU are different,i know this coz i had to prove it to one of my apprentices, airflow meter i doubt as much.

If your using a standard t3 check the adjustment on the wastegate,go to a competent tuner to do this as you need a dyno and knowledge to do this as i have have people come in my shop with similar symptoms.
Did you just bolt a turbo on an N/A motor?
Tell us what you've done so far so we can help you out.
Cheers

2.5" exust from dump pipe
600x300 frontmount intercooler
b.o.v

38mm external wastegate

yes turbo probably is the reason as we have already talked about.this turbo is designed to be used as a twin set up not individually.... even if u could run more boost i doubt it would make much more power as the turbo is already undersized and working too hard. also i didn't realise that those particular turbos run external wastegate?

i dont know if its relevant but the rb30 and jap motors are fitted with an overboost fail safe device they are located on plenum chamber just right of the throttle body. looks like a round brass plug.they will open from 8-10 psi limiting boost to 10 psi they unscrew an can replace with a bung plug from hardware or plumbers. hope that helps

i would start with the overboost plug that should do the trick mate if you need a pic of mine let us know and i will send you one you have done really well to run that much boost on n/a ecu injectors mate

as long as it bolts up to the t3 flange that turbo should be good enough all though a turbo with external gate would be better for running higher boost.
air flow meter does nothing but measure the air and tell the computer you CANT adjust them

man while u have it off get it hiflowed... that way when u do put it in u've probably made about 100hp (literally) extra and u know it's going to last ages hopefully. and despite what michael says u can adjust air flow meters by intercepting them..... this would be awesome for ensuring your na motor has the right fuel to avoid detonation and making deccent power.

maybe you can calibrate the air flow meter but i was told not too touch them as they are preset? i learnt the hard way. good idea to rebuild the turbo if it has been sittting around for months she might be a bit smokey.

12psi sounds allright what can you wind it too?from what i know you need to operate the turbo often when a turbo has not been used for a while the seals go hard and they blow smoke out the exhaust

standard turbo injectors are good but if you want bigger injectors you will need aftermarket ecu to run them.
you can get larger o ringed fuel rails to fit larger and more types of injectors.
i have a set of 380cc injectors to replace the stockies when i can get to the dyno as i only have a powerchip.
