Posts: 18 | hay guys realy need some help!!!
i have a vl turbo(rb30et)
...and the turbo is off a 300zx i think it says on it GARRETT A/R 48 ???? and running 10psi at da mo and the turbo dosnt look da biggst and dosnt go dat fast ither..
is dis turbo good ?? or poo ?? at da moment i have a nissan gts-t rb20det turbo in my shed will this turbo go beter cheers ??

Posts: | hey mate if it's off a vg30det then it's slightly better then the std vl turbo... provided its in good condition to start with... i doubt a rb20 turbo would be any better considering it's for a 2.0L motor.

Posts: 18 | hay mate cheers 4 the reply umb na its not a vg30det turbo ae but,the turbo on there now is off a twin turbo setup and is running my 6 clinder in stead of running only 3 pistions like da 300zx,but yea rb20det wouldent b that much beter ae its just that i have it spare in my shed and figured it would go a little beter thn the 300zx turbo do u think its worth changing !! cheers

Posts: 11 | yea smells like poo mate those twin turbos are pretty small to reduce lag i would put the rb20 turbo on if it has a t3 flange at least it would be bigger also if you have left it lying around it will need a rebuild as the seals go hard and alloy oil to pass through.
does it spool hard and quick?

Posts: | yeah what he said... turbo is far too small for any real performance.... rb20 would be very similar to the vl turbo so i wouldn't be suprised if it fits perfectly. it might flow a little differently but still a lot better than the turbo u are running at the mo..

Posts: 18 | hay there thanks u guys realy helpful,and yes the turbo on my vl now spools up at full boost at around 2 rpm lol and it aculy holds boost all the way till red line,i like the 300zx turb o but its just far to small,at the moment on my car i have a full 2.5" exust,b.o.v,600x300 intercoler b.o.v,38mm wastegate,fuel presure reg,and now thnk its time to but the rb20 turbo on as i just want a little more pwr to push me in my seat lol, and yes the rb20 turbo has a t3 flange,
