Posts: 1 | im pretty sure if u get a 1mm thick one your compression weil drop by one like from 9;1 to 8;1 and the gasket have stuff all effect on it maybe a little but not much

Posts: 36 | I don't entirely know mate but sorry dale i think you might be mis informed mate.. i'm pretty sure a std head gasket is 1mm thick. i do know u can get copper ones that are designed to lower compression and are 3 or 4mm.. i'm not sure how much they lower it by though sorry... i was thinking of doing the same actually just speak to suppliers about it they will have all the specs hopefully  don't forget the thicker gaskets get the weaker they are too... so i'd be more inclined to do a few things together to lower overall compression.... taking some out of the cc chambers would be a good way to go since you already have the head off to do the gasket... also a 1mm std gasket isn't the same as a 1mm copper gasket, as the std gasket will compress when you tighen the head back on where as the copper one basically retains it's 1mm thickness... something to think about.... let us all know if u get exact specs on how much gaskets lower compression.
