Posts: 241 | before i had my cooler my car would not run more boost. it would stutter and jerk making a constant blow off noise but it will not let it ping.
is that what a normal turbo does when too much boost is ran?
also it will still rev in neutral but in gear it stutters not allowing it to rev?

Posts: 36 | i'd have to agree with steven's train of thought.. sounds like it's running out of fuel all together at that particular load... which isn't actually detonation. i may be wrong but it sounds like a severe lean misfire i'm assuming if a cylinder doen't fire at all and boost is being applied which it probably can't use anyway that's enough to interupt the whole combustion process. hence the stalling and venting of boost which can't be used untill u lay of it for a sec get off that particular load site.
I'd be more incline to look at your turbo chargers flow (even if u can only compare to a known turbo of similar specs)in relation to your motor's efficiency vs fuel pressure flow and where it is actually distributed. i don't know your set up so i would be only guessing but it's something to think about mate hope it helps!

Posts: 241 | but now with a cooler i can wind boost with out dramas
how can it be fuel if im only going 10kms doing under 2000 rpm but with standard boost i can get 5000 rpm
deff not a fuel prob i beleive that is my knock sensor cutting the motor back so it cant detonate
i also have an extra wire going to dizzy for retard
what does your knock sensor do before a ping?
