nah the std turbos aren't bb turbo's. they are journal bearing.ball bearing turbo's provide less resistance by design hence they spool up on averarge 500rmp sooner that a journal bearing turbo of same size HOWEVER PEAK POWER IS THE SAME.i believe longevity would be very similar with bb being a little longer lasting. oh and the turbo mentioned above is only oil coiled where the std vl turbo ones are oil and water cooled.... which is far better for longevity again.

i am sure that a standard T3 Garrett Turbo is ball bearing and to hi flow them you exchange the ball bearings with a lighter weight ball bearing making them spin a lot quicker and less resistance LAST LONGER
I CAN BE WRONG THOUGH  best to ask Makka

u should look into it a bit more michael you'll find they are actually Garrett Aireasearch t3 turbo's made for nissan . which i'm sure are  journal bearing turbo's as are all t3 turbos i think... the bearings  actually float aroung in a thin layer of oil so they resist the harmonics and vibrations of the turbocharger.they can't be that bad anyway mines still going strong after 250k  when people hi flow the t3's they basicaly fit larger wheels (which flow more) u can have thicker shafts, modify thrust bearings or even have a hybrid bb turbo that has both journal and ball bearings...
