Posts: 241 | i have a knock sensor board to receive and alter messages in my ecu. i have 1 knock sensor in the side of the block and i have 1 extra wire going to my dizzy.
is the extra wire going to dizzy to automatically retard or advance timing when a knock is detected and is it stock?
does this mean my engine can never knock and smash on the valves except in nuetral?
can i wind boost safely and how or will it ever knock/detonate or bang out of time causing damage?
what ways can i harm engine?

Posts: 339 | Thats wired in there for a reason, when the engine pings the knock sensor picks up that signal n retards the timing.
start your engine n get a hammer n tap the side of the block n listen to the revs change to see if it still works.
you can still damage the engine in any way,the knock sensor can only retard it a certain amount, overboost, bad fuel and not having it tuned properly can do lots of damage.
