can i use a rb30 auto box
do i need to modify thing or fit straight in
can i use the rb30 wiring harness

Posts: 190 | hey steve,the bolt pattern on the RB20 is the same as the RB30 so yes you can use it.i wouldnt recommend putn the standard vl auto box in cause it'll live a real short life.they have a 3 pinion planetry in the standard box n the vl turbo box has a 4 pinion planetry,hence its stronger,but if u can find 1 coz there a bit hard 2 come by these days.
As for wiring in not 2 sure,but if ur manualising it the only thing thats gotta get wired is ur neutral start switch.but if ur doin a full manualised box then the rest of the switches wont get used anyway,but ask a sparkie in the trade anyhow.hope this helps n goodluck.

I have heard off people using powerglides or trimatics
Most popular choice of box is the MX5 5speed manual,more common,or u can use an r32 or r33 box.
I build autos n built a 2speed powerglide for a mate of mine for his vlt,but the bell housing i didnt take much notice it,but i think he said castlemain rod shop had somthing 2 do with it or you can try rocket industries in sydney.
but be warned,auto's can cost a fair bit of coin for those sorts of applications.if ya need help with buildn an auto just msg me in the forums,i replied 2 one of your other Q's b4 on autos n i explained the in n outs to buildn a vlt auto,have a look.

Posts: 59 | hey makka thanks heaps for the info and i was wondering if u can give some help getiing a box as i'm havin trouble finding a turbo box i gave pretty much every wecker a call up here and they nothin but gtr boxes or wantin aroud $1600 for them. so if u got one or know someone thats has one spare lets us know and message back a price

Mate,a gtr r box for that price is fucking amazingly cheap!if so then buy it man,down here they want a shitload
but gota check if its had 'the richard',lol!
ive got gear trains for vlt like i explained b4 which is actually out of the v6 courier,i can fit them in the standard vl auto box with all gaskets,if u send it coz im in sydney n you pay the frieght,you'll look around the $550 mark for me to do my work.
but do you wanna spend about 1800 n i can build u a bulletproof box.let me know or i can do other mods to it to suit wat u want,cheers man.
