ok.
after putting a rb30 engine in (turbo engine - the turbo) and throwing on a t4 turbo the car just dont go!
what happens is that when it starts, it idles sorta rough but as soon as i touch the throttle it dies. BUT if i hold the throttle open a little bit she bursts into life at low/mid revvs and no problem for revving but when i let go of the throttle she dies again...
so far ive ruled out:
-fuel. nope. tried different pumps... even two! fuel press. reg.
-spark isnt a problem. tried coils, got a reco'd dizzie +cas, leads, spark plugs etc..
-AFM, no.
ive only got stock injectors on and ive herd that they run a different 'pulse width'. but it still revvs...? definatly a turbo ecu.

Posts: 30 | SOME PROGRESS... IF WE HOLD THE THROTTLE OPEN THEN CRANK IT OVER, IT STARTS AND REVS HOWEVER MUCH WE HOLD THE THROTTLE OPEN. WE CAN REV IT BUT IF WE START IT WITH THE THROTTLE CLOSED AND THEN GO TO REV IT SHE DIES.!?? WEVE CHANGED THROTTLE BODIES (INC. THROOTLE POSITION SENSOR) SO IT ISNT THE THROTTLE BODY.

Posts: 20 | when u rev a car in nuetral it wont hit full boost, but the vaccum will pick up a little, have u tried changing the AAV (air acctuator valve), i have 2 vls a calais and a berlina, the calais runs a bueat but the berlina has the same prob as you, i know what it is just havnt got around to fixing it as im always working on customer cars and my own car (calais) when i have the time, give that a go and c where u end up after, if not take it to ur local performance shop and get it tuned. a mate of mine has a twin turbo soarer with a stock 1jz, he hasnt touched the boost but he has done the after market intercooler etc and it upped the boost to just over 10psi, he ended up fuckin 1 of the twins and now is going for the single conversion, and as ive told him he can only run around 8psi of boost on the standard injectors because the bigger the turbo means the more cfm of air flow to the motor hence u need bigger injectors, but yea on idle a car is neva on boost so when u rev it and then let it go and it trys to die, it has nothing to do with ur turbo

Posts: 30 | it seems like the motor is getting all the air from the aav hoses and when i open the throttle the smallest amount it coughs splutters and dies. not fuel, not spark, timing cas dizzy coil, not throttle body and sensor. fark! lol
