Posts: 1 | I have baught a Vl Berlina Wagon (atmo) with a blown headgasket....
I checked the head to see if it was cracked, and luckily enough for me it wasn't it was just the gasket...
I have put the new gasket in and put everything back together and I went to crank it over just then and it wont crank at all, it doesnt even sound like the starter motor is going...
The battery is fine, the headlights, wipers, interior lights and tail lights all work, but it wont crank over....
I am not sure if I put the injector leads back in %100 the right way, but i am 98% sure that I did, so could it be the injector leads in the wrong position thats stopping it, or anything that dissallows it to crank over?
Please help, I am desperate to get it started.
Any help is appriciated.

Posts: 30 | BEHOLD THE ANSWER.....if it isnt the starter motor. does any sound come out of the engine bay? if yes, and its clicking then battery or stuck starter motor. tap the cylinder on the starter motor pretty hard but dont break it. if no, dead battery. check your connections to all the sensors and esp. the coil. not the ignition lead but the input on the drivers side of the coil. hope it helps!

Posts: 30 | by the way, lights, wipers etc dont need much electricity to run so dont use that as a guide! they still go with a flat, not dead, but flat battery. your starter motor wont. check that out. try and jump start it or plug up a battery charger for a few hours.

Posts: 241 | SERIOUS MAN YOU CAN HAVE A MOTOR WITH NO SPARK PLUGS NO FUEL AND IT WILL STILL CRANK OVER NOW WITHOUT A STARTER MOTOR IT WONT CRANK AT ALL THINK ABOUT IT
NOW HOW THE F#CK DID YOU TAKE A HEAD OFF AN PUT IT BACK ON BUT YOU THINK PUTTING SPARK PLUG LEADS ON WRONG IT WONT CRANK PROB BEST IT DOESNT START PROB BLOW UP BE CAREFULL MATE THEY ARE A BOMB
