Posts: 18 | if your car is tuned correctly there is a slight increase in Kw, reason being cooler air is more compressed, that meaning you can get more air into your engine, which allows your car to put more fuel in and burn easier. not only that but it sounds better and keeps the car cooler . if you want more from it you COULD always extend the pod piping down so it sits behind an open space in the front bumper, but the problem with that is all the bends in the piping can restrict air flow (i think : ) you're best bet is to just make up a bracket and put it where your air box was

Posts: 1 | ok guys here is the choice
pod's r illegal even if they r fitted properly etc
when i had me N/A vl that was the first thing they picked on.. now i own a vlt
a way to get more "cooler air" and not attract attention is to cut out a 70 mm hole under the air box (do the same to the bottom holf of the air box aswell)
and run some flexi pipe down and sit it behind your front bar facing FOWARD not down.. take bout 30 mins max if you have everything there... also put a bit of silicon round the flexi pipe and the holes you cut so no shit gets in there :)
cops dont look for it if they see an airbox they r happy
also no dirty pods
no having to stuff round with washing and oiling your pod
AND
if you get a decent panel filter (bmc was my choice)
you WILL get more kw also if you wanted to go even futher tune your AFM

Posts: 9 | pod filters are soo overrated, yea they may flow more thats because they dont filter anything, your better off going with a cold air induction set up, that way your getting cold air into your motor, and they even rekon better fuel ecconomy. all pod filters are is (HAI) hot air induction. ive seen vr/vs cold ait induction modified to fit on vls , its the better way to go about it.go to rocket industies they have preety good ones

Posts: 393 | They can be effective, but ADR rules in IM240 tests show that they are illegal because they alter your pollution levels, either rich or lean under different throttle loads n conditions.
In order for them to produce power, they need 2 be routed where it going to have cold fresh air, then you'll notice a change in bottom end torque,RPM's and fuel economy.having them in the engine bay is really pointless, all its doing is sucking the hot air in.
Still,it makes more sense to have a standard airbox n high flow air filter, being legal, produces good power n wont get you in the shit with the pigs!
Fuck the noise, its the power gain that your really chasing!

Posts: 308 | yhey do suck more hot air but that air gets compressed anyways i think the standard air box is far too restrictive and any mod to get less restriction in air flow will help the motor breathe a lot more.
i dont think they increase hp but definately more healthy

Posts: 4 | I just run a simota high flow panel filter in da standard airbox. dunno if it gives it much power gain but has def make it more ball down low when gassin it.
