I have a 86 vl sedan and have followed the instructions in the gregorys manual, the timing is correct, air flow meter is fine bit when i set the idle i get sort of back firing through the exhaust the only way i can stop it is to advance the idle up to 950 rpm using the screw on the control unit. What would be causing the backfiring, what can i do to stop it and bring the idle back down to what it is supposed to be.
