| Unknown Start Up Problem | | Michael Vandervloet | Posted @ 31 Mar 2007, 10:44am | Member
Posts: 9 | I have a 1986 VL Commodore and the car was running fine but now when I try and start it, it trys to start but it aint starting until 15 seconds later and while i try and start it, it makes 1-2 popping noises from the engine. What would I do? I checked the spark plugs and they are new.

Posts: 11 | yeh i have had that problem before, check the fuel filter, it could be clogged up, take the filter out and completely clean it. should run better after that.

Posts: 395 | CHECK LIST:
*PITTING INSIDE DIZZY CAP
*BAD FUEL
*TIMING
*AIR FILTER(PARTIAL BLOCK)
*FUEL FITER
*LAZY FUEL PUMP
*AIRFLOW METER
These are just some of the symptoms that cause hard starting.Sounds like you may have a leaky injector though.
Consult a mechanic for the injectors.
