paul, i am unsure about the cam gind however i think thay are the same for the turbo as the n/a motor. Be carefull when running a standard computer they dont read psi so there fore it will lean out realy quick and you could cause damage to your motor. dont hold me to it but i think the wiring harness is diffrent to between the n/a and turbo motor, might me something to look in to. otherwise the othr option is to get your standard computer re-maped to read boost. did you install a de-compression gasket on the head?  I might sugest that you invest in a malpassi( rising rate fuel pressure reg)and a bigger set of injectors. Base fuel preasure should be set at 40psi (idel) did you upgrade fuel pump? if not you will need one. vl turbo fuel pumps are reasonably easy to find. 2 fuel pumps are used a low preasure high volume pump(standard in tank pump) is used to pump the fuel from the tank the the next pump witch is a low volume high preasure pump (vl turbo pump)you will need one to prevent fuel surge. is the turbo intercoold? if not that can also cause problems by pumping hot air into the motor you are decreasing air densidy there fore les combustion. the standard intake is fine word has it that the n/a manafolds flow better than turbo ones anyway. as for your exhaust best bet is mandrell mend 3" from dump pipe to cat (use a "high flow" cat) then all 3"pipe to rear of car where you should fit a resonator. this way you achive a good flow with a nice sound to. hope some of this insight helps answer some of your questions if you have anymore please ask!

the sizes dont range too far but you can get what eva you want made. they are around a couple of mm plus you can have a head gasket  both  sides that mite add another mm
the thicker the spacer plate=lower compression
you NEED turbo OIL/WATER PUMP,turbo computer, turbo injectors a KNOCK sensor. then worry about compression i think you need about 7-1 ratio so maybe if you can get some lower compression rings for your new pistons.
you also need a turbo or aftermarket turbo camshaft as they have different grind when boost cuts in

series 1 has no oil feed in the passenger side of block where the series 2 has. if you want to or have to turbo a series 1 block you can use a tee piece in the oil pressure sender that is standard in all rb there are 3 diff motors eg L24,L26,L18 something like that not sure of no. it should be stamped on your vin tag.
i think a turbo cam is better for turbo probly better matched but any cam will run
