How easy is it to change the tail shaft bearings for the first time and changing the brake pads?

Posts: 11 | the brake pads are easy, u could probly do it urself.
if not take it to a mechanic they will install and supply brake pads..all up cost u around $120-$140

Posts: 191 | If you never dealt with tailshafts before then dont to and do it yourself and be a hero.
They are a 2 piece shaft and have to be indexed before they are split apart to change a centre bearing.
Pads are easy,take a caliper off,wind the piston back with a G clamp,put your new pads in,pump the pedal till its hard n off you go.easy for me because ive been in the trade for 20 odd years,but if your confident then have a go and learn but if not then go to a mechanic.

Posts: 241 | come on mick pads just slot in an out and as for the tail shaft just mark it. all you can do with the shaft is repack with grease an smooth the pits in the bearings
