15 Dec 11, 9:10pm Xbcoupe74 Posts: 2	I own a r31 skyline. Strait 6/auto rb30. Just bought another r31 skyline with vl turbo motor and 5 speed manual. As my car is in better shape! I thought it would be a good idea to convert mine into a manual using the other car. The vl turbo motor doesnt sound to healthy. Might have a blown head gasket. My question is this: can i swap the gear box,s And take the turbo of the vl motor and put it on my non turbo engine? And will it work?

19 Dec 11, 3:20pm Nick Posts: 62	Yes you can swap the gearboxes but i think you'll have to swap tailshafts too, 1: cause the length is different and 2: cause auto and manual have different tailshafts. and yes you can turbo your non turbo engine but you won't be able to run high boost cause it will wreck the engine
